EQUIPMENT

Trekkers need good walking boots, rucksack or daysack, warm clothing, sunglasses, sleeping bag, crampons, ice axe, gloves and hat.

In addition, if youhire your own guide, you may need a decent mountaineering tent, mat, cooker (not gas) and cooking equipment, thermoses and water bottles.

For winter expeditions, you will need specialised boots and thermal equipment.

For those joining Middle Earth travel expeditions, some equipment is available for hire.
